Information Technology in India is growing at a reassuring rate of 50% per annum. India’s ICT exports in 2006-07 was close to US $40 billion. Recent studies strongly support the optimism of the industry in achieving its aspired target of US $60 billion in software and services exports and US $73-75 billion in overall software and services revenues, by Financial Year 2010.

The state spearheading this growth is Tamilnadu. In 2006-07, 11% of India’s ICT production was from Tamilnadu and this is set to increase by 25% in 2010-11. With Information Technology penetrating every industry, an enormous potential for growth for the Industry in Tamilnadu is forseen.
